Nine Lives has are a favorite brand of many in the heritage fashion world, even if they’ve only been around a few years. Their Heavy-Knit Indigo Henley is a great representation of what they do: make classic garments with a slight twist and top-notch fabrics. This henley is made of thick, waffle-knit fabric that is dyed with a combination of both natural and synthetic indigo. Each piece is finished with custom buttons that make this shirt just that much more special.

If you are looking for a henley that is a bit more similar to t-shirts then Todd Snyder’s Short Sleeve Indigo Henley is worth a look. Made from jersey cloth, this henley is slim fitting and easy to work into your wardrobe regardless of your style. It is finished with shell buttons which help to elevate this shirt and add a bit of visual interest. While far from a formal shirt, pairing this piece with chinos and penny loafers would make for a perfect Sunday brunch outfit.

Stevenson Overall Co. is another great example of a brand that makes simple garments with great materials and a few small tweaks, which result in a product that is better than the sum of its parts. This made in Japan henley is made from hank-dyed, 100% cotton fabric, which features variable weave pattern. While it’s gorgeous new, this fabric will only get better as it wears and fades with age.

Another great choice for a jersey cloth henley is 3sixteen’s Short Sleeve Indigo Henley. Made in Canada from 225gsm fabric, this deep-indigo henley is a classic cut with a ton of great details. From its triple-needle stitched collar to its corozo button closure, this henley is sure exudes a quality well above its price point. While not the most formal shirt on this list you’d be hard pressed to find a better piece of casual wear for the coming summer.
