Five Plus One is our weekly series of buyer’s guides. We pick a specific category and dig up five great options along with one that’s a little outside the norm.
You have a lot of options when you’re looking to build up your spring/summer shirting, but it’s always nice to have a henley or two. While there are a ton of options out there we’re partial to indigo dyed henleys and fortunately for all of us a myriad of brands seem to agree. This list is just a taste of what’s out there, but we hope you use it as a jumping off point to find your own, perfect henley.
1) Velva Sheen: Short Sleeve Indigo Henley
Velva Sheen is one of the most recommended brand for quality tee shirts, but their henleys are nothing to scoff at either. Today we look at their Short Sleeve Indigo henley, a 100% cotton pigment-dyed henley with a three button 1/4 closure. This shirt is made in Los Angeles to the best quality standards, ensuring that it’ll be around long enough to develop unique, indigo fades.

2) Nine Lives: Heavy-Knit Indigo Henley
Nine Lives has are a favorite brand of many in the heritage fashion world, even if they’ve only been around a few years. Their Heavy-Knit Indigo Henley is a great representation of what they do: make classic garments with a slight twist and top-notch fabrics. This henley is made of thick, waffle-knit fabric that is dyed with a combination of both natural and synthetic indigo.
