Studio D’Artisan Takes Ivy With Its D1811UM 12.5 oz. Vintage Fit Jean

With quarantine ongoing and a potential second wave of COVID in sight, there hasn’t seemed much cause to wear our crunchy raw denim. It sounds sacrilegious, but some of us have turned toward softer options—but still—high-end denim ones, of course.

One such option comes courtesy of Studio D’Artisan. Their D1811UM Ivy vintage jeans are PRE-DISTRESSED!!! I know it’s not what we normally go for, but it’s important to remember that washed denim is a big part of the denim world, and troublesome times call for something less starchy whilst we slump at our home-desks. Besides, SDA has been in the game for over forty years now, so we can trust them to distress a pair of jeans well.

The jeans weigh in at 12.5 oz. and have a regular-taper fit reminiscent of slimmer Levi’s 501s of the late 60s—early 70s. SDA has kept to the nuances of these late-mid-century Levi’s by incorporating a paper waist patch—and a shorter inseam—something which would have been incorporated by Ivy League-ers who wanted to show off their loafers.

Each pair is finished with a red selvedge ID, iconic Studio D’Artisan arcuates, and whole load ‘o’ puckering.

Available for $234 at Denimio
