Since 2008 Minoru Matsuura’s Brass Shoe Repair & Products has become one of the best destinations for fixing fine footwear. Primarily concerned with higher-end repairs, modifications, and makeovers, Brass quickly gained a dedicated following. After his experience as a shoe craftman’s apprentice, Matsuura-San then decided to launch his own brand ‘Clinch’ in 2012.
Just a few years later and Clinch is now widely respected across the globe for their hand-crafted and artisanal approach to making some of the best boots and shoes you’ll ever see. All Clinch footwear is handsewn and made on their own custom lasts, meaning that each pair really is a work of art.
Here we have the Yeager Boot which is made on Clinch’s CN-S Last, that has a tight instep and close fit throughout. Utilizing black overdyed horsebutt uppers (hand-sourced from Europe), the Yeager Boot features reproduction O’Sullivan’s corded soles and heels, custom hardware, and fixtures from Japan and subtle black midsole stitching.
There’s no way we can do these justice in just a few hundred words, so take the time to get to know the brand and prepare to be amazed.
