The Flat Head Appears To Be Back In Action

When The Flat Head founder and president Masayoshi Kobayashi made the decision to step down during April 2020, it seemed like the end was near for the Japanese heritage wear titan. Then the brand officially filed for bankruptcy later that year in August, seemingly confirming what many of the brand’s passionate, die-hard fans had feared—the end of an era.

Fast forward a year and an Instagram post by German retailer DC4 Berlin, is breathing new life into The Flat Head’s story by declaring “The Flat Head is back!” With their apparent first release back, they’ve stuck to the classics, offering their 3005 straight jeans and 3002 slim straight jeans both in their famous 14.5 oz. raw selvedge denim, woven from Texas cotton on vintage Toyoda G3 shuttle looms in Kojima city.

So while you were fading what you thought to be your last TFH denim, these were quietly in the works and are ready to be your next pair without skipping a beat! This is definitely an ongoing thing since we still have so many questions. But for now, we’ll take what we can get!

Available from DC4 (3005/3002) for €297.00 (~$353 USD)
