Summer rages on, but it won’t be long before we’re layering for layering sweaters with our favorite wool jackets in order to keep warm. That’s why we’ve put together a list of some great, casual wool jackets. Maybe you need a new piece of outerwear or just want to add another to your rotation, but whatever your wardrobe holds we hope you find something you like on this list.
1) Dehen 1920: Knit Chore Coat
Dehen 1920 has quickly become a favorite for those who appreciate vintage inspired clothing, but regardless of your style their Knit Chore Coat deserves a good, hard look. This heavy duty wool coat features a classic chore coat pattern, with two patch front hand pockets and one patch front chest pocket, but made from a much more refined, wool knit. The Real McCoy’s CCC Jacket is another great, vintage styled piece, this time patterned off of Civilian Conservation Corps jackets of the 1930s. Made in Japan from 100% wool, this jacket features a tonal cuffs, a contrasting wool hem, and a shawl collar, all of which come together to form a great, cold-weather jacket.

3) Nine Lives: Kiltartan Bomber Jacket
Historically, wool jackets have often been made double-breasted, and Nine Lives’ Kiltartan Bomber Jacket carries on the tradition. Like all of NL’s pieces, this jacket has some of the best finishing details out there such as Super 120s melton merino wool, custom horn buttons, and a beautiful cupra lining. 4) MotivMfg: French F-2 Fatigue Jacket
MotifMfg’s French F-2 Fatigue Jacket is a bit bulkier and longer that the other jackets on this list, but that just makes it perfect for layering on those cold days. Constructed from 20oz. Covert Cloth Wool Twill, this heavy-duty jacket is unlined and features durable construction throughout, such as flat felled seams, gussetted cuffs, bartack reinforcement, and a reinforced collar.

5) S.E.H Kelly: Cooks Jacket
S.E.H Kelly’s Cooks Jacket is another great, double-breasted wool jacket with great details. This full-reversible jacket is made from 22oz. wool on one side and 12oz. moleskin on the other, and features removable horn buttons to facilitate reversibility. It’s finished with front hand pockets on both sides to ensure it’s just as usable regardless of how you wear it.

Plus One – Graphzero: Fireman Court Jacket
