Denham’s Air Max Capsule Is Just a Snip Away

Amsterdam based denim craftspeople Denham has joined forces with Oregon’s finest sneaker seller Nike for an inaugural collection of three classic silhouettes including the Air Max 1, Air Max 90, and Air Max 95. As you might expect, the trio exhibits all the hallmarks of Jason Denham’s artisanal indigo brand with details like boro patchwork, indigo dyes, and raw denim paneling. Combined with classic Nike design cues and timeless silhouettes, this drop is set to be one for the history books.

The release was christened with the Air Max 1 on September 18th, which features an indigo drenched silhouette, sashiko style stitching on the uppers, checkered denim, and a healthy dose of nubuck for clean execution. Leaning heavily towards Japanese traditional handy work, this Air Max 1 is so carefully elevated that even your mom will want a pair and every denim head will be rubbing their raws in hopes of securing these limited sneaks.

The duo will then release the two remaining models simultaneously on September 25th. Perhaps more akin to Nike’s core DNA, they still offer a point of distinction – be it the array of denim fabrics on the neon 95, or the patchwork style makeup on the 90 – and for the dedicated sneakerheads amongst you, you’ll recognize some subtle detailing from past Nike releases which has been freshly interpreted by Jason Denham.  When speaking to the collection, he remarked that “we respected every design line in the sneaker[s] and experimented using high quality Japanese and Italian materials.”

As we continue to see the worlds of denim, heritage, and street fashion align more closely, this (perhaps surprising) collaboration continues to usher in an era where seemingly opposing styles can be merged to create a fresh, inspiring, and revitalized ‘fit.
