Denimio & TCB Come Together to Weave Washi Paper Into Exclusive 12 Oz. Relax Tapered Jeans

Kojima-based TCB Jeans and Yokohoma’s Denimio have joined forces for a rather special ‘Washi Denim’ collaboration jean. Washi Denim I hear you ask? Take a seat, fellow denim enthusiast. Now, the fabric used for this limited edition pair of five-pockets isn’t 100% cotton (that’s why I thought you ought to be sitting down).

But, before you start screaming at the absurdity of polyester, just calm yourself for a moment. Washi Denim is actually made from 71% cotton and 29% Japanese paper. That’s right, paper (the kind you might find on a sliding door in a traditional Japanese home). Giving a coarse and slubby handle with surprisingly hard wear properties, Washi Denim has a streaky character and will fade to a vivid electric blue with wear.

Although retaining the stiffness of raw denim, this is a lightweight fabric that can be worn all year round. Coming in a relaxed tapered silhouette, the TCBDMHT01 features a high rise, semi-loose fit around the thighs, and moderate taper in the lower leg. The 12 oz. fabric is complimented with beautiful red pocket bag lining and a limited edition waist patch to mark the occasion.
