Fade Friday – A.P.C. Petit Standard (5 Years, 6 Washes, 0 Soaks)

A.P.C. might call them Petit Standards but there is nothing petit about the fades that Canada’s Walter Chan was able to coax out of these jeans over the last 5 years. Averaging 3 days a week, since 2015, this has been a war of a attrition and Walter is definitely winning. With repairs all over both done by hand and professionally, these jeans were already packing tons of character, especially when you flip them inside out, Kapital SS 2025? But then you stack on the actually fades and this pair goes wayyyy beyond standard. 2 for 2.

An indigo ghost town, the washed-out thighs, lap, seat, and calves are pushing the aesthetic to outdoor vendor cart pulled 99% cotton 1% spandex “jeans” proportions, which is awesome because it proves that look can be created naturally on real jeans. Where there are creases, they are slowly becoming fossils with the whiskers deteriorating and the honeycombs receding at both ends. Let us be witnesses to the elusive post-fade fades.
