Okay, so you want a denim trucker for the winter do ya? Oh, but you also want it to be named after a 1970s historical drama about detectives, secret societies, and labor exploitation? Well, either you work for Left Field NYC or you just got really really lucky that their Molly Maguire Muleskinner Denim Jacket will be available for pre-order.
Get ready for some nice cold-weather fades because this shearling-lined denim jacket is made of rigid 14 oz. red line selvedge denim, sustainably sourced from America’s own Vidalia Mills. The design is a blend between the Levi’s Type I and Wrangler 124MJ jacket which works a lot better than that combo might sound in your head. It’s a truly unique and refreshing variation of the denim trucker that sticks out in a sea of Levi’s repros.
Featuring subtle details like green bartacks and keyhole stitching, a detail often found in mid-century workwear, Scovill brass pick and shovel buttons—and a Bovine leather patch—this jacket meets the workwear heads and heritage wear aficionados smack dab in the middle. Everyone’s happy! Can the same be said for the characters in the movie? Not sure, haven’t seen it. But if it’s anything like this jacket, I might have to give it a shot.
