Own Your Insulation Properties With Taion’s Crew Neck Down Set

Translating to ‘body temperature’, Japanese outdoor innovators Taion Extra are a dab hand at creating garments that give you that extra warmth when you need it the most. In true Japanese style, sleek and minimalist down jackets and liners are their bread and butter, but this piece takes things a step further.

Based around a detachable, modular garment that includes a down vest, jacket, and t-shirt, the Crew Neck Down Set is further supported by an internal heating system that is powered by a rechargeable battery pack which connects to an integrated USB inside the jacket. Allowing the user to regulate the temperature of the jacket via the Taion logo on the left chest, you simply place the battery pack inside the internal pocket, plug in the USB connector, and press the logo for the desired temperature.

With three settings of 40, 50, and 60°C, the heating system uses far-infrared rays as its heat source to warm up the body from the inside. With a down fill of 850, a water repellent nylon outer — and a stuff sack — this versatile and creative use of modern technology takes things to the next level in that Japanese style we love.
