The Real McCoy’s is making vintage sweat collectors all over the world find comfort in the fact that they will probably never find or be able to justify the price of the actual real mccoy when it comes to this kind of sweatshirt. The miracle repro in question? That would be the Double Face After-Hooded Sweatshirt. I won’t blow it up too much but these are forever hot stuff in the old clothing world and as far as elusive sweats go, they are second to none. Well, maybe only to lock-stitch hood sweats.
So to break it down, “double face” basically means 2 layers, so 2 sweats in one. In this case, that’s 24 total oz. “After hood” on the other hand refers to the hood that was applied to the sweatshirt after the crew neck was created—notice how it’s not all the way connected?
100% cotton and featuring ribs in all the right places, handwarmer pockets, and classy drawstrings (note the aglet) this Japan-made sweatshirt is ready to go. Unless you like your chances at that yard sale this weekend.
