Adidas Solid Crew Sock 3-pack Review

This piece is a part of our Great White Sock Review, which runs down all the different white cotton socks we could get our hands on.

It’s checks over stripes this time around as Adidas puts out a flimsy and oddly proportioned sock that managed to be one of the most difficult to apply or remove from my feet.

Fit

These are tall, and not a well conceived kind of tall. They go most of the way up your calf but there’s no adjustment in the fit to account for the increasing width of your calf so they just kind of slip down and bunch up above your ankle like an 80s leg warmer.

Fabric

Even with the extra lift, these were incredibly difficult to put on and off, which is mostly due to the thin and flimsy knit. There’s no padding or plushness in this sock and the sole is slippery and uncushioned. Also the fiber content is only about 60% cotton, the rest is a blend of nylon, elastane, and polyester. Nothing necessarily wrong with that, just don’t get them near an open flame.

Construction

It’s fine. Your standard mass produced tube knit thing. It hasn’t been cleanly finished like some of the pricier socks in the review but there’s nothing inherently wrong with how it’s produced.

Conclusion

Unless you’re a fierce loyalist to the Adidas cause, skip em. These are significantly worse than the Gold Toes but cost almost 3 times as much. Don’t bother.
