Anonymous Ism Line Slub Crew Sock Review

This piece is a part of our Great White Sock Review, which runs down all the different white cotton socks we could get our hands on.

Let me begin by saying I own and wear several pairs of Anonymous Ism socks in my regular rotation and have been a fan for many years. These particular white socks, however, aren’t going to make it to the top of the laundry pile.

Fit

While many of the offerings on this list have been too tall, this was one of the few that were too short. They’re low, chunky, stout. The toe seam is also in a weird place, probably due to how thick the fabric is, and they were near impossible to get on and off.

Fabric

Anonymous Ism was not very forthcoming about their fiber content, simply listing “cotton, acrylic, and other” on the packaging. I’m not sure what “other entails” but the chunky knit is reminiscent of ragg socks and the coarse knit dug into my foot after any period of standing in them.

Construction

Construction is top notch. Despite my gripes on the the fit and feel, there’s attention to detail and artistry in the way these socks are put together. The varying textures, the subtle irregularities paired with the near symmetry of the way they’re sewn makes for a very alluring look.

Conclusion

There’s a lot to love in how these were produced, not as much in how they are on the foot. Stick to Anonymous Ism’s more intense designs and give their plain white (or the closest they make to a plain white) sock a pass.
