Grant Stone Bosses Its Brass Boot In Black Chromexcel

A friend of mine traveled to Taiwan for work recently and was lucky enough to be armed with a pair of Red Wing Moc Toes in desperate need of a resole. He was lucky because Taiwan is the home of Dr. Sole, who recrafted his Red Wings with a lug sole. What’s this got to do with Grant Stone? Well, we featured the brand’s Brass Boot not a week ago, but I just had to give this rendition of Grant Stone’s moc toe its own post because these lug-soled black beauties are just a step above—just like my mate’s newly resoled Red Wings.

Did I mention they’re also made from lustrous black chromexcel from the almighty Horween? Seriously, something about that black leather and sole separated by that burnished brown leather welt is just doing it for me. And I think we can all agree that a moc toe boot with a heeled-sole is a strong look.

Grant Stone crafts these on Xiamen Island, China, using Goodyear welt construction and finishing them with a full-grain leather lining, veg-tan leather insole, and tonal black laces.
