Merz B Schwanen Recycled Cotton Blend Socks Review

This piece is a part of our Great White Sock Review, which runs down all the different white cotton socks we could get our hands on.

Oh these are handsome. They harken back to a technicolor Leave it to Beaver-esque era that never existed, with their bright colors and chunky recycled cotton knit. I wanted to like these very much.

Fit

They’re a little too short and the toe seam is a little too long. It bunches up and is bulky in a way that chafes with significant walking.

Fabric

It’s beautiful isn’t it? Too bad this coarse knit is a little too thick. The fibers are soft but the yarns are hard and you can feel the individual knits pressing into your feet after walking on them for more than a few minutes.

Construction

They’re well executed. I have no complaints about how they were put together.

Conclusion

Merz b made something gorgeous from the past, as they often do. Unfortunately they brought some of the discomfort with them.
