South2 West8 Straps Into Parrafin-Coated Oxford With Its Latest Belted C.S. Pant

Sometimes it’s hard to comprehend just how much incredible product is produced by the myriad of brands that fall under the Nepenthes umbrella. The output from arguably my favorite one, South2 West8 has never failed to leave me impressed. My bank account is consistently less impressed, but we move.

Founded in 2002 by Kaname Nagaoka, S2W8 largely takes its inspiration from the Japanese art of Tenkara fly fishing, which by the looks of it, is the most steezy sport out there. The brand’s distinctive pieces are crafted from durable materials and feature technical details combined with relaxed silhouettes. And they’re usually finished in either an everyday wearable color or a stand-out striking all-over print -either way, you can never really go wrong.

The Belted C.S. Pant is one such item that fits the above description perfectly. These Japan-made 100% cotton belters (sorry, couldn’t resist) come coated in paraffin for excellent strength and water repellency. The regular wide fit coupled with a triple stitched center seam gives real depth to the overall shape. Slide pockets with snap buttons, as well as overlapping pockets on both sides — with that stag branding featured on the right –and a drawstring at the hem make these the ultimate in fishing flex gear.
