Fade Friday – Naked & Famous Red Weft Weird Guy (6.5 Years, 3 Washes, 4 Soaks)

Christopher from LA is getting closer to being faded and denim famous every day thanks to his 12 oz. red weft selvedge denim from the inventive Canadian denim brand, Naked & Famous. My estimate is he’ll be ‘threadbare’ in about 30 more years.

From wearing these jeans to work and at the woodshop to walking around town and country, Christopher has clearly whaled on these jeans, pulling no punches. Over the course of 6 years and 3 months, the jeans have faded into their own and the texture has really come out to play. The front screams 60s vintage jeans. Grainy thighs, light whiskers with the emphasis around the knees. The backside is a mellow gradient broken up by thin but pronounced honeycombs.

And if the fades weren’t unique enough, our guy cranked the individuality up to 11 with sashiko repairs done by Sashiko Denim in Amsterdam and a chain stitched Texas silhouette done by Lot Stock and Barrell in California.
