And with Spring having just started there is no better time to stock up on this great style of warm weather shirt. Whether you wear them daily or just for the occasional trip to the beach, everyone needs a good Aloha shirt to brighten up their summer.
1) Pagong: Goldfish
Pagong brings together the classic art of Kyoto-Yuzen fabric dyeing, which was traditionally used for Kimono fabric, with the style of Hawaiian Shirts. Japanese fabric has been used for Aloha shirts all the way back to the 1920s or 1930s, so it’s great to see a company continue to follow this tradition. Their Goldfish is a made in Japan shirt featuring rayon fabric, coconut buttons, and a great pattern.

2) Locals Only: Pineapple Juice
Locals Only‘s Pineapple Juice great, pineapple motif shirt from a company dedicated to offering made in Hawaii with vintage influences. It’s made from 100% rayon fabric with wood buttons, and comes in a wide range of colors and sizes. If you are looking for a Hawaiian shirt that doesn’t break the bank and features a more understated pattern then this one might be right up your alley.

3) Studio d’Artisan: SP-035 Aloha Shirt
Studio d’Artisan‘s SP-035 Aloha Shirt is another example of a brand highlighting the classic combo of Hawaiian shirts with Japanese fabrics. This shirt uses an eccentric pattern showing a complicated, overlapping scene that highlights the colors achieved in the fabric. This shirt is finished with shell buttons and is made in the style of Hawaiian Shirts from the 1950s.

4) Stevenson Overall Co: Libertine Silk & Rayon Blend Shirt
While rayon is a great fabric, not everyone wants a shirt made entirely from it. Stevenson Overall Co offers a great blend in its Libertine shirt, which features a 56%/38%/6% rayon/cupra/silk fabric. It features a geometric pattern with two chest pockets and cat’s eye shell button, all of which come together beautifully to form a very cohesive final product.

Reyn Spooner is one of the most iconic names in Hawaiian shirts, and their Hawaii Gold is a great introduction to their offerings. Featuring a pineapple motif, this colorful aloha shirt is beautiful and colorful while remaining easy to work into an average spring/summer wardrobe. It’s made from 100% rayon in a classic fit, which makes it comfortable to wear on even the hottest days.

Plus One – Kapital: Kamehameha Aloha Shirt
Kapital is constantly creating quirky takes on classic garments, and they aren’t pulling any punches with their Kamehameha Aloha shirt. Featuring a seemingly classic sailboat/island motif that is covered by an image of a rib cage and spine, this shirt is certainly a bit divisive in its styling. That said, it’s certainly memorable, well made, and unique, and that’s what the Plus One spot is all about.
It’s made in Japan from 100% rayon fabric with coconut buttons forming what will certainly go down as one of most interesting shirts of the year.
