Leather Zip Wallets – Five Plus One

Five Plus One is our weekly series of buyer’s guides. We pick a specific category and dig up five great options along with one that’s a little outside the norm.

I know we’re all tired of seeing the pandemic referenced in every other article, but the truth is it has forever altered both the clothes we wear and the accessories we carry. That’s why we’ve put together a new article of Leather Zip Wallets—regardless of how your everyday carry has changed over the last year and a half we hope you’ll be able to find the perfect wallet for everything you need to carry (little mask, wipes, etc.) when you venture out.

1) Obbi Good Label: Condor Money Keeper

Leather-Zip-Wallets---Five-Plus-One 1) Obbi Good Label: Condor Money Keeper

Obbi Good Label is well known for their wide selection of leather accessories at reasonable prices, and while their prices are a bit more in line with the rest of the industry these days we can hardly blame them charging what they deserve. Their Condor Money Keeper is made with a grainy, cowhide exterior and lambskin interior separators, allowing this wallet to hold whatever you need. It’s finished with brass hardware: a YKK zipper, OGL concho, and D-ring if you wish to attach a chain or lanyard.

Available for $160 from Rugged Gentlemen Shoppe.

2) 3sixteen: Zip Wallet

I’m not normally one for decorative stitching, but the minimalist pattern on 3sixteen’s Zip Wallet really adds to its overall appearance. It’s made with a veg-tanned exterior and leather divider, smooth fabric liner, and nickel zipper with leather pull. These wallets are made in Portugal with folded, stitched edges and tonal stitching that adds to the ornament.

Available for $130 from Blue Owl.

3) Iron Heart: Zippered Cowhide Wallet

While Iron Heart is first and foremost known for their heavyweight selvedge denim jeans, their nearly indestructible leather goods are a close second. Their Zippered Cowhide Wallet is made in Japan from a water resistant paraffin leather with a primary zippered pouch that contains a secondary zippered coin pouch. There are two compartments on either side of the internal coin pouch,  which can be used for cash, cards, or any other small goods you find yourself needing a daily basis.

Available for $235 from Self Edge.

4) Tanner Goods: Universal Zip Wallet

Tanner Goods may just be the most well known leather goods brand amongst denimheads, and while their Universal Zip Wallet is far from their most popular offering its solid by all measures. Made in the USA of 3oz. English bridle leather, this wallet features a central divider that creates two card slots and a center slot intended for folded bills. Finished with a vintage-styled RiRi zipper and leather pull, this wallet is a great addition for anyone looking to mix-up their wallet rotation with something a bit minimalist.

Available for $140 from Tanner Goods.

5) Makr: Revised Cordovan Zip Wallet

While veg-tan, bridle, and Chromexcel are all well and good, sometimes you just want the luscious richness that only comes with shell cordovan. Makr’s Revised Cordovan Zip Wallet gives you just that: a beautifully designed zip wallet constructed from Horween’s Shell Cordovan. It’s constructed with two interior partitions, allowing it to hold a large amount of cards and cash, and a YKK zipper with cordovan pull tab. Available in a wide range of colors, this wallet is easy to fit into most any wardrobe regardless of your favored colors or formality level.

Available for $295 from Makr.

Plus One – Voyej: Vessel by Revolt Industry

Voyej is another brand known for the well priced, uniquely designed leather goods and their Vessel by Revolt Industry zippered wallet really exemplifies this. Made from American veg-tan and featuring a wide degree of decorative stitching, dyeing, and leather texture, this wallet is the perfect choice for those looking for something a little different. With three card slots, one cash slot, and money compartment, this wallet can handle just about anything you want to store in it.

Available for $200 from Voyej.
