Unmarked’s Archie-01 GRM Ripple Uses Cowhide From Mexico’s Chahin Tannery

Leave it to Unmarked to create a Monkey Boot with a ripple sole for even more monkey-like grip  – the Archie-01 GRM Boot, perfect for swinging from tree to tree this summer. While Unmarked doesn’t actually call it a Monkey Boot, it certainly has a similar silhouette with its high shaft and lace-to-toe construction, but here the brand is paying homage to traditional Mexican work boots – not to the Eastern Bloc Stompers that you might have heard of. These Archies are their own thing,

Made in Mexico from heavyweight cowhide from the country’s own Chahin Tannery, they feature Vibram Ripple soles, calfskin lining, cork cushion accents and filling, leather midsole, and rugged brass hardware. Each pair is Goodyear welted — so you can resole ’em — and finished with Unmarked branding and buttery smooth chrome tanned leather laces.

Available for $420 at Unmarked.
