Samurai Jeans proves what’s broken doesn’t need fixing, with its 15 oz. Selvedge Broken Twill Denim Rider Jacket in Ink Black. The intentionally random weave that a broken twill provides — reversed from it’s regularly-diagonal weave — is arguably functional, in that it keeps the fabric from rotating and resulting in a twisted arm or le. Not to mention it’s beauty. Just look at the close up shots of this sulfur dyed denim and see the incredible texture to see what I mean, especially the chevron-patterned weft-side. I said damn.
Not broken is this design, a classic denim blouson based on vintage trucker jackets from the big three, with some slight modifications from their 20th century predecessors – resulting in a super wearable piece of outerwear that’s sure to fade unlike anything already hanging in your closet. There’s hand pockets at the hips, a slightly longer (and slimmer) modified body, Japanese cotton-twill pocket lining, coated custom black copper buttons, and silver selvedge ID. Each piece is made in Japan and finished with a wovem branded neck label.
