Unmarked is going green with its latest bunch of Archie Recycled Project sneakers. The Mexican footwear brand is utilizing recycled leather to create this latest run of the Archie model, a monkey boot style that’s Mexican in its design.
This run of the Archie uses recycled black and cream leather on the upper and insole, with a recycled canvas lining. Even the 360 degree-stitched outsole is a recycled rubber sole that’s replaceable down the line, so these sneaker-boot hybrids will be stomping for many years to come.
We’re all for the recycling and repurposing of materials- especially leather, ’cause that stuff doesn’t biodegrade as fast as say, a lightweight cotton. The fashion industry as a whole desperately needs to incorporate more sustainable practices across the board, and Unmarked has set a standard for sustainable leather sneakers, not to mention the fact that they’re already championing Fair Trade labor practices over in Mexico.
Available for $120 at Unmarked.
