3sixteen Renders Its Pared-Back Type 1 In Japanese Herringbone Twill

“Less is more” is a cliché that I’ve sometimes struggled with but the Type 1 S HBT Jacket from 3sixteen does a great job of personifying this. Offering a modern take on a familiar silhouette whilst retaining the classic aesthetic sounds like a tall order, but 3sixteen has definitely achieved this with a few tweaks to the classic type 1 design.

The back cinch, front pleats, and front pocket flap have all made way for a much cleaner overall look. Functionality has not been sacrificed for this form, though, with the addition of black corduroy-lined hidden hand pockets on the front. The jacket is made in the U.S from a 100% cotton heavyweight Japanese HBT fabric that will soften and even fade with every wear and wash, making that coyote color even better over time.
