For those of you not familiar with MSI off the bat – it’s the apparel industry’s most trusted tool to measure and score any environmental impacts of materials used in the design and production of clothing and footwear, such as; cotton, polyester, and leather. This means that Cone will be able to provide their customers with life cycle assessment and comparison data of specific materials used in the design of their own fabrics alongside any environmental impact they’d have.

The Higg MSI is a tool that promotes increased transparency thus allowing designers to make more informed product decisions whilst minimizing their potential negative impact on the planet. Overall a very strong move backed with the fact that Cone themselves have developed custom materials in the MSI tool for its full SS22 fabric collection.
