This 3sixteen Shirt Splices Wool Tweed & Herringbone Twill

It’s that time of the year when Heddels writers take to their keyboards to remind you ingrates once more that you need some overshirts in your wardrobe! We wax poetic on this piece’s versatility, its elegance, its pragmatism; but then each season, new iterations of our favorite under-loved shirt return and so, too, do we.

3sixteen has an absolute banger of an overshirt this season, one that fuses a couple of legendary shirting styles, all to great effect. The first piece to note is the pattern, this is a camp collar shirt, a style you’re probably more used to in summertime wear. Then there are the slanted pockets, which reference L.L. Bean‘s famous chamois shirts. Last and certainly not least, is the 50/50 split of heavy wool and herringbone twill. The difference is so subtle it’s hard to see even in the promo images, so people will double-take this and wondering what drew their eyes back.

Made in the USA, this piece is great way to stay extra warm and plugged into the ever-changing, ever-advancing style coming from our friends at 3sixteen.
