Fade Friday – ONI Denim Kabuki 622 22 oz. (11 Months, 2 soaks)

It hasn’t even been a year and Eypin has taken his ONI Kabuki 622 22 oz jeans to the highest of fading height — and with the Indigo Invitational Year 2 screeching to a halt — I can’t help but feel like I’m in the presence of a front runner.

For 11 months, Eypin has been wearing his jeans everyday doing all kinds of work from driving and washing cars to just about anything else you can imagine under the Selangor, Malaysian sun!

And, speaking of which, of course the fading factory known as SE Asia is helpful when it comes to fading jeans, but you have to realize it’s not for the faint-hearted. Not only must the heat and humidity be torturous, but his jeans are also are extra-heavy and rough in texture, so ‘hard-fought’ fades is an understatement.

Not only do these jeans look like they’ve been worn for literally 5 years, the fades are so deep, it looks like they’ve been actually pressed into the fabric. And that post-impressionist-dot-looking-grainy-ness you see isn’t just unique eye candy but a reminder that these jeans are super slubby, adding even more character.
