Toys McCoy Pays Tribute To Lee With Its Lot 001Z Riders Denim

fIt shouldn’t be so hard to find a good Lee repro, but for some reason it really is. So when we come across a piece that mimics any of the brand’s great models, we always get excited.

Toys Mccoy has brought us an excellent interpretation of a pair of Lee Riders, named the Lot 001Z Riders Denim. They feature all the essential details you’d expect: a zip fly, widely-placed back pockets with x-stitches on the corners, and a generous fit. Unlike the originals, though, these are made in Japan from Japanese selvedge denim. A classic, with a contemporary twist – always a recipe for success.

A favorite amongst cowboys in its heyday, those wide pockets might seem strange, but they were actually designed so that horseback riders wouldn’t be sitting on anything in their back pockets. This model is also pretty similar to the jeans that James Dean wore both in Giant and Rebel Without a Cause – it doesn’t get much more iconic.
