Most people have heard of The Real McCoy’s, but if you are looking for great sweatshirts you can to turn to their sub-brand Joe McCoy. Their Loopwheel F/Z Parka is a classically designed full-zip sweatshirt made from 10oz. loopwheel fabric with a drawstring hood and two front hand pockets. Best of all this sweatshirt comes in a wide range of colors, including the “saxe” light blue pictured above.

3) 3sixteen: Heavyweight Zip Hoodie
While 3sixteen might be best known for their selvedge, their Heavyweight Zip Hoodie is no slouch either. Available in a few great colorways, this made in Canada sweatshirt features a tonal two-way YKK zipper with leather pull, 14.75oz. fleece fabric, and a triple fabric hood for better wind resistance. While there are a lot of great, heavyweight hoodies out there, this one is really made to resist the elements.

4) Merz b. Schwanen: Hooded Zip Jacket
Merz b. Schwanen Hooded Zip Jacket is bit on the lighter side at 13oz., but if that’s what you’re looking for this is a great option. It’s made from a slightly irregular garment with natural colored drawstrings, triangular armpit inserts, and two front hand pockets, making this an easy option if you’re looking for something to throw on in the morning.

5) Dehen 1920: Full Throttle Moto Hoodie
Dehen 1920 makes a ton of great pieces, but their Full Throttle Moto Hoodie is really something special. It’s made from 100% worsted wool and has all the details you could ever want and more. It’s heavyweight and fully lined, and features two-way brass zippers, reinforced interior elbow patches, and extra-wide ribbing at the cuffs and hem. Available in several colors, this hoodie is substantial enough that it might just because your go-to jacket as well as sweatshirt.

Plus One – Pure Blue Japan: Indigo Zip Hoodie
While there were a lot of unique sweatshirts on this list, Pure Blue Japan’s Indigo Zip Hoodie really takes the cake. It’s made in Japan from 100% cotton, indigo rope-dyed fabric, and features raglan sleeves, paneled body and hood, two-way YKK zipper that closes extra high, and ribbed underarm, cuff, and hem. While it might not start off looking like more more than a blue hoodie, the unique fading of the indigo will prove this piece is anything but that.
