But these days wool flannels can be just as comfortable as their cotton counterparts with a ton more warmth and character. Today we’re exploring both styles of wool flannels in the hopes that there will be something for everyone.

If there is one thing Naked & Famous knows, it’s good fabrics, so it’s no surprise that they came out with a killer flannel: the Wool Shaggy Shirt. Made from an 88%/10%/2% wool/nylon/other blend, this boxy CPO style shirt is designed to be worn over something a bit softer but fits perfectly with the thick, hairy fabric used in its construction.

5) Buzz Rickson: Flannel CPO Shirt


Buzz Rickson makes a bunch of phenomenal, historically inspired garments but their Flannel CPO Shirt really takes the cake. It’s made in Japan from 100% melton wool and features mil-spec buttons, chainstitch runoff details, and scallop-flapped single chest pocket. If you are looking to add a new flannel to your collection and want something both classic and special to add, then this piece is the obvious choice.

Plus One – A Kind of Guise: Dullu Tie-Dyed Virgin Wool-Flannel Overshirt


A Kind Of Guise’s Dullu Tie-Dyed Virgin Wool-Flannel Overshirt is truly one of a kind. Constructed from a tie-dyed wool fabric that sets this shirt apart from anything else on the market, this made in Germany piece features Buffalo horn buttons and cotton trim detail. While not a true camo pattern, this tie-dye colorway certainly achieves the same goal of blending in a very different way.
