Columbiaknit’s Hobnail Cobblecloth Crewneck Splices Thermal & Sweatshirt Details

There was much hilarity on the Google Meet when David and I first read the words “Hobnail Cobblecloth” on a line sheet. The combined words make for a silly name, one reminiscent of a fantasy character, but we didn’t want to write it off completely.

When we received samples, we were immediately sold – this Hobnail Cobblecloth was no joke. A heavy-duty, textural, made-in-USA cotton knit, these crewnecks merge sweatshirts and thermals into a great layering piece. Though not immediately as soft as a fleece, the hobcob makes up for that in beefiness and warmth. The textured knit, like a waffle-knit, just soaks up and magnifies body heat, making this an ideal inner layer or lounging piece. With ribbed cuffs, hems, and the triangle detail at the neck, this crewneck has all the details you’d want from an intermediate layer and is finished off with a wild 80s-looking label.

The hobcob comes in royal blue and parchment, both of which are a great alternative to the sweats you’re always buying!
