You probably know the Toyo Enterprise brands (Sugar Cane, Buzz Rickson’s, Tailor Toyo, etc.) for their faithful reproductions of many of the greatest garments made in the latter half of the 20th century. But where does one go for quality Toyo design with a little extra whimsy? The answer: Sugar Cane sub-label, Fiction Romance.
Fiction Romance does some wild stuff, all of which shares inspiration with the core Sugar Cane pieces. Similar in spirit, FR gets to have a little more fun with the reference material. This 13 oz. Canvas Hunting Jacket, for example, does just that. By mixing and matching details from various classic hunting jackets, you wind up with a statement jacket that doesn’t push the boat out too far.
Mixing the 13 oz. brown duck canvas and 9 wale corduroy allow for significant contrast, and its 8 pockets would make it a practical choice for all-day wear. As always, you can rest assured it is made in Japan and will last many, many years to come.
