Evan Kinori Opens San Francisco Retail Store

Evan Kinori has just opened his first brick and mortar space in the Mission District of San Francisco. Situated among retail shops, taquerias, and other small businesses along Valencia St., the Evan Kinori store seems to be the next step for the designer whose work was previously available directly by appointment at his private studio in Hayes Valley.

The space is clean, white, spacious, and minimally furnished. The clothing takes center stage, displayed on racks along one side of the space, with well-composed outfits styled along the wall of the other. Accessories, a few plants, books, and simple furniture are scattered throughout. One gets the sense that this isn’t a mere retail store, it’s a boutique, with every piece of the composition as important as the next.

Evan can be spotted working in the back studio. Ryne who works the floor is friendly, helping a customer into corduroy pants, and a loose-fitting cardigan. The fitting room is spacious and comfortable, it feels like someone’s home, and incense clears the air. When you purchase something, it’s taken to the back, and wrapped with paper and string- the store is full of details you don’t often see.

Visit Evan’s designated work and retail space in the heart of San Francisco now, Friday through Sunday 11AM to 6PM, or by appointment.
