Levi’s Hikes Up Price of 501® STF After 10 Years

The end of an era is upon us. In case anyone was keeping track, for the first time in over 10 years the Levi’s STF 501 just went up in price going from $59 to $69.50. And now all there’s left to say is…a new era is upon us! Come on, Levi’s is still offering the same tried and true, blue workhorses they’ve been dishing out for decades for well south of $100, and by the looks of our fade archive, these may just be the best bang for your buck out there. So, although this hike in price is naturally correlated with inflation, maybe we can see it as a reminder that we are still lucky that such an indigo-dyed sweet spot still exists in the market where the term “raw denim” usually means $$$$.

Made from 100% cotton, this classic 5-pocket, button fly rigid blue jean is basically the same pair of jeans that people have been wearing for over 100 years and there is a reason the repro brands are still dissecting old pairs to this day, with the hopes of capturing just an ounce of that brand magic. But they’ll never be a pair of Levi’s. So maybe reaching for an original was the move all along.
