I’ve totally had some Redbacks and tried some Blundstones and — I get it — work Chelsea boots have been and will continue to be a thing. Well, heritage American bootmaker, Danner, and Atshi Matsushima of Clutch x Lightning Magazine have teamed up and changed the Chelsea game with another successful collab, shaping a perfectly-balanced boot around an original Danner last from 40 some odd years ago.

The “Goa” boot was designed to be a bit more on the rugged side of the Chelsea spectrum and they nailed it. The boot has OD green elastic gussets paired with matching pull tabs and the uppers are fashioned out of a robust, rough-out bovine suede. To top it all off, Danner matched the upper with some tonal Vibram Commando soles. This means worry-free wear traversing anything from the urban jungle to rocky crags as you scramble to the top of a mountain. I won’t be doing that myself but, then again, I get upset when I scuff my work boots opening the fridge looking for a snack.
