Filson Releases Long-Awaited Reissue Of Its Aberdeen Jacket

According to the good folks over at Filson, folks have been pining after a reissue of this Aberdeen Jacket for years, now. And while I don’t know anything about the demand for defunct Filson jackets, I know a good jacket when I see one. And I can see why people have wanted the brand to bring this one back.

Cut from Filon’s classic 8 oz. oiled Cover cloth — a borderline-bulletproof cotton poplin that has been treated with a wax coating —  the Aberdeen Jacket is naturally water-resistant but doesn’t have the overly-oily hand feel of, say, a brand new waxed Barbour or Belstaff jacket. This practical yet charming piece perfectly balances that easy-to-rock windbreaker/coaches jacket with Filson’s heritage workwear styling which has seen the brand be a mainstay since the late 19th century, resulting in a jacket you would throw on every day, rain or shine.

The Aberdeen Jacket is fully lined and constructed with roomy patch pockets at the hip, a zip front closure, rib knit cuffs, and an adjustable drawstring at the hem to dial in the fit.

Available from Filson for $325
