This Mud-Tie-Dyed Studio D’Artisan Tee May Have The Best Name Ever

The “Nature Boy Ric Flair” Mud Tie-Dyed T-Shirt is not officially licensed merchandise for professional wrestling legend Ric Flair. It is, however, officially endorsed by the natural process and natural dye professionals over at the Japanese denim powerhouse Studio D’Artisan. SDA utilized the centuries-old technique of muddying called dorozome for this epic tie-dye job.

The time-consuming technique of dorozome is comparable to indigo dying in Japan. It takes a highly skilled craftsperson to artfully achieve a rich and complex natural earth tone, and it fades with wear and some trips to the washing machine. Leave it to SDA to make some of the most interesting shirts out there right now.

SDA slapped mud on heavyweight 100% cotton jersey fabric and apparently applied bleach to achieve such an interesting effect. They’re a standard fit, so slightly boxy and not too long, and you can expect minimal shrink since they’re tie-dyed.
