I’m gonna start by being honest and say that these aren’t the most insane fades we’ve ever featured. But it’s the story behind these Levi’s 501 STFs that caught my attention whilst combing through our Fade inbox.
Our guy Mayank imported these 501 STFs from the USA as he could not find a stockist in his homeland. After getting them tapered, these became Mayank’s go-to jeans for his day-to-day grind as a software engineer, and went on to wear them every day for 2 years. They haven’t just seen office wear, though, Manyak has been sure to put these 501 STFs through their paces by wearing them for weekend bike rides, too. The good old 5/2 formula has produced so many great fades over the years.
The best way to describe the actual fades on these jeans is, well, Levi’s. They’re classic, un-fussy but solid Levi’s fades on the most iconic raw denim jean of all time. A nice amount of dye loss and denim evolution that has produced a lovely Americana blue, straight-cut whiskers that stack down to the knee, and on the reverse, some nice shimmering honeycombs.
A solid fade and a reminder that we take the wide availability of the 501 STF for granted over here in the West.
