Anatomica’s 618 Marilyn Jean Is Based On The Iconic Levi’s 701

Denim heads sometimes look to the past to inspire future looks. They might see Marlon Brando in a scandalously tapered pair of modified pair of 501s and James Dean in a pair of Lee Riders but it needs to be said that men were not the only ones out there dressin’.

Marilyn Monroe, for instance, was also a denim icon of the time and Anatomica thinks it’s about time to remind us by making a special pair of jeans for the ladies. Their new 618 Marilyn Jean is based on Levi’s iconic women’s model famously worn by Marilyn, the 701, and is the result of meticulous research and tests involving original pairs in the legendary 35Summers archive. That means the high rise, rounded shape, slight taper fit, nuanced fabric, and countless details are as close to the original as possible.

Coming in a super approachable 11 oz. denim, these one wash, 100% cotton jeans feature a zip fly, leather patch, exposed rivets, and — brb looking up the womens to mens conversion chart — are made in Japan.
