Fade Friday – Unbranded UB177 (3 Years, 12 Washes)

The raw jeans movement was inspired by hard-working laborers putting on the same pair jeans every day to do what they had to do. They were a tool and a second skin, not a fashion statement.

And sure, today, everyone wants the look – and for them to be authentic but working for it is a whole other conversation. So when we see submissions like Anders’ from Norway, it definitely warms our indigo-dyed hearts.

“Worn as work jeans as a trucker”. That’s all they wrote. And that’s all we need to know. Because just like his message, these fades are direct. For the last 3 years and 12 washes, these Unbranded UB177 jeans have weathered the consequences of routine. Taking it back to the days of unconscious, repetitious wear, Anders has taken a pair of rigid Unbrandeds and sculpted that end-of-the-rainbow pair of worn-in jeans that everyone wants. With bright shades unlocked by generous washes and long hours leading to robust crease lines, here we have a rare example of a bright and happy pair of raws that manages a strong contrast. Instead of dark to light its light to lighter. And maybe it’s thanks to that day in day out wear that give these that old-school vintage look.
