Fade Friday – S510XX20OZGA Battle of Ganryu (2.5 Years, Unknown Washes)

Leo in the UK is bringing the British Invasion to Americana using Japanese raw denim. First time that sentence has happened? Probably. With 2 and a half years of near-daily wear under his literal leather belt, Leo’s Samurai Battle of Ganryu jeans look, well, very faded. Easily some of the heaviest wear in this amount of time we’ve ever seen, with cycling, riding and crashing motorcycles, countless washes, and plenty of repairs responsible for a look designers and consumers alike go crazy for.

Although it looks like a sandblaster has been taken to nearly every square inch of these jeans, the nuances of this lush Samurai fabric have been brought to life as the layers of indigo have peeled away. For instance, the grainy texture that just draws you in no matter where you look —or the whiskers and honeycombs etched into the very DNA of the jeans — no, seriously, we took a high-power microscope to these things! And it’s been too long since we’ve some creases that have been worn in so hard, they burst. It doesn’t get better than that.

Finished off with some perfectly amateur repairs, do not be surprised if an intimidating representative of Kapital or RRL comes a knockin’ looking for these.
