The Cho-Kiwami Denim is the final boss in Samurai‘s core range of XX denims — i.e. its the heaviest — weighing in at a hefty and robust 21 oz. Woven in Japan on old wooden shuttle looms by the most highly skilled craftsmen, the resulting fabric is soft yet textured with a devilishly slubby appearance. Samurai’s Cho Kiwami denim also carries a weighty reputation for being a fast fader, too, so expect some glorious results once you’ve conquered the agriculutral wear-in period.

For this season Samurai has applied this fabric to their iconic S510 model alongside the similar S520. The iconic S510 is a true straight fit that’s not too baggy but does feature room in the top block and throughout the legs alongside a medium rise. The S520, on the other hand, is a regular tapered fit, meaning it too has room in the top block and a medium rise, but a a taper from the knee to the hem.

Features on both of these heavyweight jeans include; a custom sheep leather Samurai patch, thick and textured jacquard pocket linings, and custom metal harware throughout including an iron-made rising sun button and copper rivets.

Both pairs have been washed once to minimize shrinkage from a cold wash, and are available from Franklin and Poe priced at $388
