Drake’s Re-Opens Lower Manhattan Store

Fix up, look sharp – British tailoring heavyweight Drake’s is back in the Big Apple and its Canal Street store is looking better than ever.

Now, if you’ve got a particularly bleak view of the world, you might think that refurbing a brick-and-mortar store is a bad idea. Online shopping is king, after all. Well, all I can say is that I’m glad that Drake’s doesn’t share that view. In fact, not only does it not share it, it takes the view, crumples it up into a ball, and hurls it straight into the trash.

Drake’s newly refurbed Lower Manhattan store, located at 327 Canal Street – a cultural hotspot – delivers a bright and beautifully curated new home in the city, built from the ground up by the Drake’s team. The store features the entire Drake’s offering – with a particular focus on tailoring, as you’d expect – in addition to a rotating program of art, collabs, and New York exclusives.

I’ve been lucky enough to have visited the Drake’s London store on Savile Row once or twice (more like 300), and all I can say is that the guys and gals that work there are personable, inviting, knowledgeable, and most importantly of all, just happy to have a chat. So, if that’s anything to go by, I suggest you get your keister down to Canal Street lickety-split and sort out some new garms.
