Well, uniquely-dyed jeans of course. And that’s why we’ve put together a list of some of the best overdyed denim available — whether you need a new pair, want a new pair, or just like looking at great jeans, we hope this serves you well.

1) 3sixteen: Arcoíris Collection Jeans

3sixteens’ Arcoíris Collection offers several, uniquely overdyed colors such as cobalt and violet. The latter, offered in their slim-tapered NT-100x style, is made in the USA with sanforized denim that has been overdyed with violet, and finished with gunmetal hardware. Seeing as violet isn’t too far from indigo, this is a subtle overdye that will brighten up with good ol’ wash ‘n’ wear.

2) Momotaro: 0x05SP-OD “Black Overdye”

If you are interested in entering the world of overdyed denim but want a colorway that’s accessible and versatile, then Momotaro‘s 15.7 oz raw selvedge “Black Overdye” denim is a great option. Available in three fits, these jeans feature Momo’s iconic indigo ‘vintage label’ denim, overdyed with black sumi ink, leading to a super opaque black denim that will produce  whimsical and merky fades as the years roll by.  Each pair is made in Japan and finished ith black iron buttons, copper rivets, filled belt loops, a tonal waist patch, and tonal Momo battle stripes.

3) Naked and Famous: Crimson Sky Selvedge

Naked & Famous is known for producing the most unique and experimental denim on the selvedge market, and their Crimson Sky Selvedge jeans certainly continue the trend. They feature a warp that has been overdyed with indigo and a crimson red weft that results in dark inigo fabric with a sinister red hue. Available in six fits (yup, six) it’s easy to find a pair of these jeans that fits you exactly how you’d like.

4) Redcast Heritage x Tanuki: “Homura” Akane Overdye

Redcast Heritage‘s latest collaboration with Tanuki is really quite special. Using red dye derived from the fermentation of the Akane plant, this 16.5 oz. raw selvedge denim flaunts a deep indigo warp and equally deep red weft. While certainly not your standard fare, it’s hard to not appreciate this style, which has flown off the shelves at Redcast.

5) Iron Heart: IH-555s-21OD Indigo Overdyed Black 21Oz.

Iron Heart‘s IH-555S-21OD is another stunning choice available for those seeking a pair of overdyed denim that isn’t too out there. They started their life as 21 oz. indigo jeans raw selvedge denim jeans, but the added black overdye gives them a much deeper hue that will fade beautifully.

Plus One – Oni Denim: 122S-RUST “Rust Overdye”

ONI Denim‘s 122S-RUST are some of the most uniquely overdyed jeans we’ve seen. The warp is dyed with natural indigo while the overdye process leaves the weft with a unique, rust-like hue. Beyond that, the denim’s slubby, hairy texture continues to set these jeans apart. ONI even added 2 % Polyurethane to add some stretch, ensuring you can wear these jeans enough for them to reach their full potential.

Each pair is made in Japan and finished with black-coated copper hardware, bar tacks, and raised belt loops.
