Simmer Down With Schnayderman’s Boiled Wool Half Zip

Just the other day I was breaking my back looking for the perfect half-zip. If only I’d waited just that little bit longer to learn about Schnaydermans half-zip sweat in boiled wool.

Now, if you’re unfamiliar with Schnaydermans, it’s a Swedish brand hailing from Stockholm. Founded in 2012, the brand places a huge amount of emphasis on creating sustainable and innovative collections, designed for the ‘weird and wonderful’.

Sadly, I’m only one of those things (I’ll let you guess which), but that doesn’t discount me from loving its half-zip. Constructed from a beautiful virgin wool sourced from Italy, the half-zip features a zip closure, chest pocket, and a relaxed fit; perfect for chucking on over a tee and under a Balmacaan

Obviously, the pièce de résistance here is the fabric. I’m actually a little unsure if I should refer to it as a knitwear piece or a sweatshirt, demonstrating its versatility as a garment. To produce the fabric, wool is boiled to shrink and compress the fibres so it has the appearance of a tighter, felt-like material. Known as ‘nature’s fabric’ by many, wool is in itself water-repellent and self-cleaning, the perfect combination for a garment set to stand the test of time.

The half-zip comes in a number of colorways, so take your pick and get layering.
