Looking like they were pulled from a rusty oil drum in an old service garage — in the best way possible — is Halim’s 20 oz. pair of Oni Denim. Worn for 3 years, through 1 wash and 2 soaks, these demons have been soaking in the heat and humidity of Malaysia, getting stronger every day. As if they were some Godzilla-type humanoid beast.

But with fades that could cut diamonds all over the place, from lap lines and whiskers (shin whiskers – get with the program) to cavernous honeycombs, it appears as though Halim has shown his inanimate pair of pants who’s boss. But beyond the dominance over cotton, the true story with these fades is the hue. Achieving this deeply dark, matte, yet nuanced cast of blueish yellow, we see lots of bright fades in our inbox that strive for the highest contrast possible but rarely do we see such old–old school lookin’ aging. Then again, it takes a special type of person to endure a pair of 20 oz. anything in a tropical climate.
