The Real McCoy’s Reissues Its MJ22107 M-65 Field Coat

When it comes to iconic military garb, the M-65 Field Coat is among the heaviest hitters. Adopted lovingly by civilians post-war and featured in classic motion pictures like Serpico and Taxi Driver, the M-65 is possibly the most versatile piece of US Army outerwear and is a perennial pillar of heritage style in the modern world.

You can grab an M-65 from a vintage store or from a mass-producer like Alpha Industries, but for an end-tier reproduction that you will wear and love for the rest of your days, look no further than The Real McCoy’s. This reproduction of the 2nd pattern of the M-65 (which introduced shoulder epaulets among other updates) is made in Japan by vintage obsessives, hell-bent on producing the best version of this archetypal silhouette. Constructed from cotton sateen with cotton and nylon linings, McCoy’s’ MJ22107 Field Coat has a loose fit, spacious pockets at the chest and hips, a double zip and snap closure placket, and an internal storm cord at the waist to dial in the fit. The stand collar that sits between the shoulder epaulets features a stowaway hood concealed by a zip closure, and the wide sleeves have small pleats that articulate their shape.

These things sell out every year, so if you’re interested, we’d recommend drawing first blood if you can.
