If I could have my way, it would be heavyweight denim and boot weather 365 days per year. I know that isn’t for everyone, but every day I’m not putting some wear into my favorite pieces feels like a day lost. The good news is that lightweight selvedge jeans are more common than ever before, and while you may have to forgo the boots, at least you’ll be able to get some fades during the coming spring/summer months.
This year’s Summerweight Selvedge list has an 11 oz. limit — a weight that will allow your legs to breathe a bit more whilst still offering crispy fade potential.
1) Rogue Territory: Stanton 11 oz.
Rogue Territory is one of the best, mid-tier denim brands out there, and fortunately for us their lineup includes an 11 oz. Stanton this season. These jeans feature a classic slim straight cut and all the details you’d expect from a pair of Rogues, including lasso stitching, back pocket pen slot, tucked belt loops, and selvedge details throughout.

2) Naked & Famous: Lightweight Recycled Selvedge
It should come as no surprise that Naked & Famous made this year’s list — their multitude of unique fabrics means they usually have a few lightweight options available, but this year’s Lightweight Recycled Selvedge just so happens to be especially compelling.
Made from an 11 oz. Japanese selvedge that is made partially of recycled denim, these stonewash-tone jeans would make an excellent addition to anyone’s warm weather rotation. They’re available in a wide range of N&F’s staple fits, making it a breeze to find a fit that works for you.

If you’re looking for some lightweight selvedge that won’t break the bank, then look no further than The Unbranded Brand‘s UBx22 Lightweight Selvedge. 4) Momotaro: 1201SP Going To Battle
Momotaro‘s 1201SP jeans are some of the best jeans on the market if you’re looking for lightweight denim and phenomenal details. They’re made in Japan from 10 oz. Japanese selvedge and have everything you could hope for from a pair of Momo’s: pink selvedge ID, ‘Going to Battle’ stipe back pocket stripes, and back pocket tag.
These jeans are definitely a bit of a fuller cut than the others on this list, but the extra bagginess will certainly increase the breathability of these already lightweight jeans and wider cuts are certainly on the up.

5) Kato: Beige Selvedge
KATO is quickly becoming of the most popular mid-tier denim brands, and with good reason. They have a ton of great fits, choose their fabrics wisely, and offer excellent build quality — especially for the price.
An addition to the summerweight selvedge list comes in the form of 10.5 oz. KATO’s Beige Selvedge, a 96%/4% cotton/polyurethane blend denim that boasts stretch, durability, and comfort to an already great pair of American-made jeans.
