Fade Friday – Mischief Denim Karyu 20 Oz. (1.5 Years, 6 Washes, 1 Soak)

Eka in Bandung, Indonesia has been working their Mischief Karyu jeans for a year and 3 months and has gotten some super saturated results.

Joining the Mischief Denim Combat Contest in 2020 with these as his trusty submission, Eka has done it all in these jeans from going to the office to hanging out with friends. Complete with some chem trail-style whiskers and honeycombs with sporadic wispy crease lines throughout, this fabric has seen its fair share of aging with the bright tones to prove it. Contrasted with the darker borders along the shins, ankles, and waistband, the gradient is an eye catching detail.

Spurred on by 6 washes and 1 soak these jeans can serve as an inspiration for anyone looking to coax out major wear in under 2 years time. And we haven’t even gotten to the kicker yet: they weigh an incredible 20 oz. which means they were likely an absolute pain to wear let alone wear consistently. And in that climate? A national medal may be in order.
