Be a Sun Dodger in Samurai’s Murdered Out 17 oz. Selvedge Denim Coach

Samurai‘s 17oz. Selvedge Denim Coach Jacket in Black is a denim jacket for those who don’t like denim jackets. This isn’t your elder’s vintage workwear style, no, Samurai went ahead and made a whole new type of jacket. It’s not without inspiration, but we’ve never seen anything exactly like this, and we’ve seen a lot of jackets.

This wholly unique piece blends sportswear elements with the rugged made-to-fade elements of Japanese denim. From far away, it looks like a standard coaches jacket, but up close it looks unlike anything else in your (or anyone else’s) collection of jackets.

First off, it’s constructed from Samurais’ proprietary black 17 oz. selvedge denim, woven with sulfur-dyed warp and weft yarns that will fade gloriously into fifty shades of grey as time goes on. This fabric also has a sexy silver selvage id, visible on the inside of the button placket. Ooft.  Secondly, the silhouette. This neo-coach iss cut with raglan sleeves and a handy interior pocket — a detail from which you can see the stitching from the exterior of the jacket.

Each Selvedge Denim Coach Jacket is made in Japan by Samurai’s team of skilled craftspeople and finished with oxidized snap-buttons, dual welted hip pockets, and a drawstring waist.
