Companion Denim Launches Recycled Japanese Selvedge Denim Jeans

Companion Denim‘s Joel 030K Recycled Denim is arguably the ultimate choice for the eco-conscious denim-head. Weighing in at 13 oz. and available across all of Companion’s jean silhouettes, this is woven from recycled denim waste, breathing new life into discarded fabrics and turning waste into wearable selvedge.

The recycled denim yarns used in the weaving of this mid-weight fabric leave it with a lighter, mottled tone. So whilst fades won’t be first on the menu, uneven shades of indigo create a nice bit of visual interest from the jump.

While the Joel 030K embraces modern sustainability practices, it doesn’t forsake the heritage quality we’ve come to know and love from Companion. Each pair is made to order in Spain, featuring details like a chain stitch hem, hand-felled yoke and inseam, “peek-a-boo” selvedge coin pocket, a selvedge loop by the left hand pocket, Japanese indigo-dyed gingham cotton pocket lining, and a button fly.

In a world riddled with unbridled consumerism, this Companion release stands out as a beacon of mindful consumption.
